HD Radio broadcasting delivers dramatically
higher quality audio, and compelling new wireless data services. No more
static, hiss, pops or fades.
What you know as 993TheVibe is the "terrestrial" radio broadcast found at 99.3 on the FM dial. The same broadcast is delivered in Hi-Def on 93.3 channel 2 on a Hi-Def radio. This is also referred to as a HD2
multicast channel. Not only does this signal come through in superior audio quality, but it harnesses the signal strength of 50,000 watts. This gives us a reach that goes well beyond Washington DC to the north and Richmond, Virginia to the south. In addition, the
wireless data feature enables text information to be displayed -titles, artists, weather
or traffic alerts will be broadcast directly to your receiver's display screen.
To upgrade your car radio or home
radio, look for HD Radio products from Eclipse, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic and
Sanyo. Yamaha and Boston Acoustics. Many more manufacturers are coming to
market each year, including Alpine, Polk and Radiosophy.
